Description
Español: Valladolid (España). Claustro del edificio conocido familiarmente como Las Francesas. En su origen fue el convento de Santa Cruz de comendadoras de Santiago. En 1886 a las monjas dominicas francesas se instalaron en Valladolid y abrieron en el edificio un colegio. El nombre familiar de "Las francesas" se empezó a utilizar a raíz de la existencia del colegio. En el último tercio el siglo XX las monjas se trasladaron a otro lugar después de vender la propiedad. Se construyó un edificio de viviendas y un centro comercial, salvándose la iglesia que el Ayuntamiento utiliza para exposiciones. También se conserva el claustro conocido vulgarmente como patio de las tabas por adornarse el pavimento con tabas y guijarros de río. También se conserva en el interior la escalera monacal.
