| Description |
English: Designed by James Barnette and constructed by John Young, the Garden Palace was to be created in less than eight months to ensure it was useable for Sydney's International Exhibition in 1879. It was primarily constructed of timber, and was destroyed September 22, 1882 when it was engulfed in flames. The remains of the sandstone gates are found at the entrance of the Botanical Gardens on Macquarie St – Just across from History House! Sources: |
