Description
English: OKUNOSHIMA, JAPAN. LOADING VESICANT CONTAINERS IN BATCHES OF SIX FROM ONE OF THE WOODEN LIGHTERS MOORED ALONGSIDE THE SHIP SHINTONMARU. BECAUSE OF THE DANGEROUS NATURE OF THIS JOB JAPANESE WORKMEN WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AS THEY STOW THE CONTAINERS IN THE SHIP'S HOLD. THE CONTAINERS WILL BE DESTROYED LATER AT SEA DURING THE FINAL PHASES OF "OPERATION LEWISITE", UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT, BCOF.
