Description
English: 1611 reproduction of mappa mundi (circular map of the world) by Genoese portolan cartographer Pietro Vesconte, originally made by Vesconte for Marino Sanudo's Liber secretorum, c.1321 (original manuscript version found here). This printed reproduction was made around 1611 for the German publisher Johann Bongars' Orientalium expeditionum historia. Gesta Dei per Francos, sive Orientalium expeditionum, et regni Francorum Hierosolimitani historia (Hanau, 1611).
