Description
English: El monumento a San Martín es una estatua ecuestre ubicada en la Plaza San Martín, en el Centro Histórico de Lima, Perú. Fue erigida en conmemoración del centenario de la Independencia de la Nación Peruana y fue inaugurada en 1921 durante el Oncenio de Augusto Leguía. La estatua esculpida por el destacado escultor español Mariano Benlliure representa al General José de San Martín, reconocido líder militar y prócer de la independencia de varios países sudamericanos. La estatua ecuestre muestra a San Martín montado en un caballo y es considerada uno de los monumentos emblemáticos de la ciudad de Lima.
