English: Lithic implements

1) Four truncated blades, average size length 15mm, width 12mm, thickness 3mm. Three have two arises and one has only one. Three have only the middle section remaining, whilst the forth has the front half missing. Three have a creamy patina, one is dark brown with creamy patina forming. Date Late Mesolithic-Early Neolithic. 2) Micro-Core, length 20mm, width 21mm, thickness 20mm. Prepared striking platform on the top, multiple flaking scars around the outside, all appear to have been taken from one direction, this is a core for making microlithics. Date late Mesolithic. 3) Miscellaneous retouch flake, length 28mm, width 16mm, thickness 3mm. One edge has been reworked with short, low angled, direct retouch into a crescent shaped blade. No bulb on the ventral, one arise on the dorsal. Grey colour flint with a creamy patina. Date Neolithic. 4) Knife, length 34mm, width 19mm, thickness 5mm. Scaled, direct, low angled retouch down both sides. 90% cortex on the dorsal, large bulb of percussion on the ventral. Dark grey flint, with creamy patina starting to form. Date Late Neolithic-Bronze Age. 5) End scraper, length 22mm, width 32mm, thickness 10mm. Bifacial, semi-abrupt, scaled retouch on the forward edge in a crescent shape, multiple flaking scars on both the ventral and dorsal edges. Grey coloured flint with lighter patches. Date Late Bronze Age. 6) Miscellaneous retouch flake, length 29mm, width 29mm, 9mm thickness. Short, direct, low-angled retouch on the left side. No bulb of percussion on the ventral, multiple flaking scars cover the dorsal. The rear has been truncated. very thick creamy patina, where it has been truncated this has exposed a dark grey core. Date Prehistoric. 7) Probable core fragment, length 16mm, width 17mm, thickness 18mm. Semi-cone shaped cortex on the tip, multiple flaking scars around the side, possibly the bottom section of a core. Date probably Late Mesolithic. 8) Piercer, length 23mm, width 15mm, thickness 4mm. Short, semi-abrupt, direct retouch down the left and right side, the right side angles in to point at the forward edge. Two arises on the dorsal, small bulb on the ventral. Creamy patina. Date Neolithic. 9) Eighteen fragments of debitage. (these have not been photographed) Consisting of. 2 Primary flakes, average size length 38mm width 30mm, thickness 22mm. Dark grey coloured flints, all have more than 50% cortex remaining. Date prehistoric. These are waste flakes from the manufacturing process. 5 Secondary flakes. average size length 27mm width 12mm, thickness 6mm. Most have a dark grey colour, one is mid brown, all have less then 50% cortex remaining. Date Prehistoric. These are waste flakes from the manufacturing process.

10 Tertiary flakes, average size length 15mm, width 12mm, thickness 2mm. Most have a light grey colour with a light patina, three are dark grey. Date prehistoric. These are waste flakes from the manufacturing process.
