English: This photograph has been taken in what is known as the Royal National Park in Sydney, taken in 1889. In 1879 an area of 18, 000 acres was set aside as a national park on the coast of NSW, increasing size to 36,820 acres in 1880. The mention of 'Sharkey's wet plate caravan' in the title of this Kodak implies that Sharkey was using an onsite caravan darkroom to develop his photographs immediately. Sources: |
