Description 120222-N-HG258-114 WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 22, 2012) Under the leadership of Captain Brian O. Walden, the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Band, left, performs "Hail to the Chief" as President and First Lady Obama walk onto the stage at the beginning of the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Smithsonian's African-American Museum of History and Culture. The ceremony was emceed by actress and singer Phylicia Rashad and featured remarks by former First Lady Laura Bush and President Barack Obama. The event featured music by opra singer Denyce Graves and the Navy Band. The Museum is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African-American life, art, history and culture. It is scheduled to open in 2015.
