English: Name: Rechovot Beit Haim Weizman Description: Beit Chaim Weizman (also known as the Weizman Villa or the Weizman Mansion and sometimes even the "President's Palace") was the private home of the first president of the State of Israel, Dr. Chaim Weizman, and his wife, Dr. Vera Weizman. The house is located on a hill in Rehovot, which is now part of the Weizmann Institute of Science campus. עברית: שם: רחובות בית חיים וייצמן תיאור: בית חיים ויצמן (ידוע גם כווילה ויצמן או אחוזת ויצמן ולעיתים אף "ארמון הנשיא") היה ביתו הפרטי של נשיא מדינת ישראל הראשון, ד"ר חיים ויצמן, ורעייתו ד"ר ורה ויצמן. הבית שוכן על גבעה ברחובות, שהיא כיום חלק מקמפוס מכון ויצמן למדע. הערות: המבנה ידוע כיצירת מופת אדריכלית של האדריכל היהודי אריך מנדלסון. האתר הוכר כאתר מורשת על ידי המועצה לשימור אתרי מורשת בישראל.הבנייה נמשכה כשנה, והזוג ויצמן נכנס לגור בבית בינואר 1937.מ 1949 ועד מותו של ויצמן שלוש שנים לאחר מכן, שנים בהן כיהן כנשיא מדינת ישראל, שימש המבנה כמעונו הרשמי של הנשיא ואירח מדינאים ואישים רבים נוספים.המבנה (הפרטי) הוענק על פי הוראתו של הנשיא הראשון לתועלתו של הציבור הישראלי, באמצעות יד חיים ויצמן. הוא משמש כיום כמוזיאון "יד ויצמן"להנצחת מורשתו של הנשיא הראשון(ויקיפדיה) מיקום: קמפוס מכון וייצמן ברחובות קובץ מקורי: DSC04166.JPG |
