White paper with typed black text

April 29, 1963 Mr. Payne Williams, Chairman, South Carolina Committee for Gettysburg, Claire Towers, Columbia, South Carolina. Dear Mr. Willliams: I am attempting during the current session of the Florida Legislature to see that a bill is passed providing for the erection of a suitable monument to the soldiers of Florida who served at Gettysburg. In corresponding with Mr. Adam G. Adams, Chairman of the Florida Civil War Centennial Commission, and Mr. Kittridge A. Wing, Superintendent of Gettysburg National Park Service, I obtained your name, and notice that you are proposing a monument to the soldiers of your state Sine our move does not have much time if it is to be successful before the 100th anniversary of the battle, I wonder if you would be kind enough to write me with any information as you might have on the cost of your proposed monument, and the company or companies with which you are dealing, and like information. I thank you most gratefully in advance for your assistance. Very truly yours, Paul W. Danahy
