English: Marines assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) recover their parachute at the drop-zone after paradropping from a MH-60S Seahawk helicopter assigned to the “Desert Hawks” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 26 Det. 1, during a free-fall parachute training evolution. The 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit is a forward-deployed, flexible sea-based Marine air-ground task force capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response and limited contingency operations, to include enabling the introduction of follow-on forces and designated special operations in order to support the theater requirements of geographic combatant commanders. HSC 26, Det. 1 is attached to CTF 53 to provide combat logistics and search and rescue capability throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
