הערות: מתוך סדרת נופי נרקיסיים של עוזי פז. צמח עם בצל רב-שנתי גדול בקרקע (גיאופיט). העלים סרגליים, בשרניים מעט, מסתלסלים, ערוכים כולם בבסיס הצמח בלבד. לעלים גוון מכחיל. פורחת מסוף יולי עד אוקטובר (כמו החצב), בעונה שמעטים בה הפרחים האחרים. הפרח לבן צחור. גדלה בבית-גידול אופייני: בחופי צפון הארץ, ברצועה הקרובה ביותר לים, לרוב לא יותר מ-100 מ' מהים. רצועה זו חשופה לרוחות הבאות מהים ומביאות בכנפיהן רסיסי מים מלוחים. ברפואה העממית השתמשו בבצל של חבצלת נגד נזלת וכן להמרצת פעילות הלב.
