Name: The locomotive at the train station - Lod
Description: In front of the Israel Railways administration building in Lod, stands a refurbished model of the first locomotive that operated in the Land of Israel, steam locomotive No. 1 of the Jaffa-Jerusalem Railway Company. The locomotive was built in 1890 by the Baldwin company in the USA and started its journey in Israel on October 3, 1890. The locomotive was accompanied by a supply wagon for water and coal

תיאור: בחזית בניין הנהלת רכבת ישראל בלוד, ניצב דגם מחודש של הקטר הראשון שפעל בארץ ישראל, קטר קיטור מס' 1 של חברת הרכבת יפו-ירושלים. הקטר נבנה ב- 1890 על-ידי חברת Baldwin בארה"ב והתחיל דרכו בארץ ב-3 באוקטובר 1890. לקטר התלווה קרון אספקה למים ולפחם
הערות: היו 5 קטרים. הקטר המקורי נהרס בסוף מלחמת העולם ה-1 והדגם מחודש הוא חלק מזיכרון מורשת הרכבות בישראל. העיר לוד הייתה מרכז תחבורה רכבתית בראשית ימי הרכבת בארץ. בימי המנדט יצאו מהעיר לוד רכבות לרחבי המזרח התיכון, לאירופה ולאסיה. לתחנה הגיעו במהלך מסעותיהם אישים כמו : בנימין זאב הרצל, קיסר אתיופיה היילה סילאסי, הלורד בלפור, גנרל אלנבי, צ'רצ'יל, הברון רוטשילד, דוד בן גוריון ועוד.
