English: Name: Kibbutz Beit Keshet Description: President Yitzhak Ben Zvi at the dedication of the monument to the fallen, the work of the sculptress Batia Lishanski עברית: שם: קיבוץ בית קשת תיאור: הנשיא יצחק בן צבי בחנוכת האנדרטה לזכר הנופלים, פרי ידיה של הפסלת בתיה לישנסקי הערות: קיבוץ בית קשת הוקם באוגוסט 1944 כישוב ראשון שהוקם על ידי לוחמי הפלמ"ח. שמו של היישוב (כלי הנשק קשת) נקרא בהמלצת יצחק בן צבי בהשראת הפסוק מקינת דוד "ללמד בני יהודה קשת". ב-16 במרץ 1948 יצאה מבית קשת כיתה של שמונה סיירים בפיקודו של עלי בן צבי בנו של הנשיא לעתיד, לסייר בגבעת שהב. בהגיעם למקום נפתחה עליהם אש תופת על ידי מארב מתוכנן. רק ניצול אחד הצליח להימלט והגיע לשער הקיבוץ. בשנת 1950, פורק צריף המגורים שבו התגורר יצחק בן-צבי ומשפחתו ברחביה מאז 1924, והועבר לקיבוץ בית קשת, לשמש בית תרבות לזכר בנו. מיקום: בית קשת מעלה הצילום: דוד הלפרין מקור הצילום: ארכיון קיבוץ בית קשת- פרוייקט שימור לדורות בית יגאל אלון ואוניברסיטת הרווארד קובץ מקורי: 2793087.jpg |
