Deutsch: Die Dampflokomotive WRB – Philadelphia (Bauart 2`An2) wurde im Sommer 1838 in den damaligen Wiener Vorort Meidling angeliefert. Sie wurde 1837 von der Lokomotivfabrik William Norris in Philadelphia gebaut, kam per Schiff nach Triest und von dort nach Wien-Meidling. Ursprünglich war sie als Personenzuglokomotive auf der Südbahnstrecke Wien–Gloggnitz gedacht. Sie wurde allerdings 1857 ausgemustert. Auch als Baulokomotive wurde sie verwendet. Das Mosaik der "PHILADELPHIA" befindet sich Ecke Meidlinger Hauptstraße - Wilhelmstraße 68 in Wien 12., nähe Philadelphiabrücke. |
