Name: Netanya - Esther Cinema
Description: Esther Cinema was a cinema that was established in Netanya in the 1940s near Independence Square, and was the city's first cultural center. At the beginning of its life, the cinema was used as a hall for parties and balls for the residents of Netanya. During the British Mandate, the cinema building was used to receive refugees.

שם: נתניה - בית קולנוע אסתר
תיאור: קולנוע אסתר היה בית קולנוע שהוקם בנתניה בשנות ה-40 של המאה ה-20 סמוך לכיכר העצמאות, והיה בית התרבות הראשון של העיר. בתחילת דרכו שימש בית הקולנוע כאולם המסיבות והנשפים של תושבי נתניה. בתקופת המנדט הבריטי שימש מבנה הקולנוע לקליטת מעפילים.
הערות: בשנת 1938 בימים בהם שלטון המנדט הבריטי, אסר עליית יהודים לארץ ישראל, הגיעו משלוחים רבים של מעפילים, לחופי נתניה. המעפילים שמספרם הגיע עד סוף השנה לכ-2,000 נפש, נקלטו על ידי חברי האצ"ל מנתניה. הללו העבירו את העולים ללינה מרוכזת בקולנוע אסתר, שמרתפו הועמד לרשותם על ידי אייזיק גרינשטיין.
