תיאור: קיבוץ חניתה - תחילת הדרך
הערות: חֲנִיתָה - קיבוץ בגליל המערבי, על גבול לבנון, אחד מיישובי חומה ומגדל. המרד הערבי הגדול שפרץ ב1936 סיכן את היישובים החדשים. הוחלט להקים מודל חדש להתיישבות : "חומה ומגדל". יישוב מוגן המוקף חומה ובו מגדל שמירה, ביום עבודה אחד. בן-גוריון בתחילת שנת 1938 אישר את רכישת אדמות חניתה, ב 21 במרץ 1938 הגיעו 400 איש, פתחו בפריצת דרך למחנה וסחבו על גבם ועל חמורים וגמלים לחניתה את הציוד הדרוש. העלייה לחניתה הייתה מגדולי מבצעי ההתיישבות של חומה ומגדל, להתיישבות באזור חדש, הררי, עוין וקשה להגנה.
