| Description |
A visit to Blackpool primarily to cover the extension of the tramway from the seafront to the North Station a few weeks after opening. In addition a first time opportunity to ride and photograph the Bombardier Flexity sets introduced from 2012. The new terminus station is two dead end lines which differs from the rest of the system with balloon loops at either end and intermediate points. This will of course preclude the use of much (or all?) of the historic fleet which has just the one driving position. Seen here on 11 July 2024 are sets numbers 002 "Alderman E.E. Wynne" on route T2 to Starr Gate and to the right route T3 which will work through to Fleetwood Ferry. Route T1 is the Starr Gate to Fleetwood 'direct' service taking the direct route along the seafront. |
