2013 Czech Republic Trip Day One An hour and a half or so at Zürich HB station was a busy and productive time. Stretching the capabilities of modern DSLR cameras to their limits means hand-held photos in stations after dark are easily possible using high ISO settings. However, location-wise Zürich wasn't perfect. Most domestic trains are now push pulled with the loco being at the buffer stops end. Also lighting wasn't perfect. But there is scope for the future. Being late in the day, many international trains that terminated at Zürich sat in the platforms for a prolonged period. Seen here is ÖBB no. 1116.221 with a "Railjet" push-pull set which would have come in from Wien Westbahnhof. Date taken, 11 May 2013. |
