Description

Participants and spectators gather on South Civic Center Drive before the first ever Citizen-Journal 10K run held in June 3, 1979. The winner that year among 2,800 runners was Glen Bartholomew. See Dispatch article "Workout Produces Victory for Runner", published June 4, 1979 for more information.
