Description
English: Cast copper alloy annular brooch diameter 24mm, thickness 2mm, weight 1.6g. The width of the frame is 3mm, there are ten bevelled rectangles with an incised cross on the inside angle running around the top edge of the piece, these are separated by a narrowed waist that is 1mm thick. There is a circular cross-section constriction 1mm diameter, this is surrounded by Fe corrosion, there is further Fe corrosion on the opposite underside which maybe the remains of the pin.

The overall condition is poor with corrosion stripping away the entire original surface.

This type of artefact dates to the 13th-14th century.
