Description
English: Cast copper alloy pilgrims badge length 33mm, width 18mm, thickness 3mm, weight 2.15g. The badge depicts St Barbara standing draped in a robe with a halo above her head. In her left hand she holds a palm of martyrdom and in her right is a chalice. To her right is a tower representing the tower where she was tortured and killed and martyred for her beliefs by her farther, who, according to Christen legend, was subsequently struck down by lightning. On the reverse is the remains of a loop, the face is worn removing much of the detail. This artefacts dates to the 15th century.
