Description
English: May Tao, South Vietnam. 2 December 1969. A 105mm howitzer gun of 101st Battery, Royal Australian Artillery, stands ready for instant action on steel mesh matting in support of 6RAR /NZ (ANZAC) (The ANZAC Battalion comprising 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and a component from the 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment), minutes after it is lowered into Fire Support Base (FSB) Picton from a Chinook helicopter. FSB Picton has been set up at the fringe of the mountains to support 6RAR on Operation Marsden.
