Name: Kibbutz Dan - a beehive
Description: Kibbutz Dan beehive was established in 1935 by members of Kibbutz Dan, one of the first Hebrew settlers in the Hula Valley. Over the years, the kibbutz beehive developed and became the largest beehive in Israel with approximately 5000 active hives.

תיאור: מכוורת קיבוץ דן הוקמה בשנת 1935 על ידי חברי קיבוץ דן, מראשוני המתיישבים העבריים בעמק החולה. עם השנים התפתחה מכוורת הקיבוץ והפכה למכוורת הגדולה בישראל עם כ- 5000 כוורות פעילות.
הערות: הקיבוץ נוסד כאחד מיישובי חומה ומגדל ומצודות אוסישקין ב-4 במאי 1939. המקימים היו קבוצת עולים מטרנסילבניה, רומניה וחברי תנועת השומר הצעיר, שהגיעו לכפר סבא בשנים 1931–1932, והקימו קיבוץ ארעי ב-1933 בגבעת השומר, ליד כפר סבא. ב-1939 נתנו מוסדות היישוב את אישורם לעלייה לקרקע, והקיבוץ נוסד באורח של קבע בקרבת צומת הגבולות ישראל - סוריה - לבנון. הקיבוץ השתייך לתנועה המיישבת "הקיבוץ הארצי". מקור התמונה:פרוייקט שימור לדורות של בית יגאל אלון ואוניברסיטת הרוורד
