הערות: מתקפת הפתע על ישראל הייתה מתקפת טרור פלסטיני של חמאס והג'יהאד האסלאמי הפלסטיני מרצועת עזה על ישראל, במיוחד בעוטף עזה, שהחלה בבוקר יום שבת, 7 באוקטובר 2023. המתקפה כללה חדירה יבשתית (רגלית, אופנועים וטנדרים), אווירית וימית לשטח ישראל, מתקפות על בסיסי צה"ל ומוצביו וקרבות ירי עם כוחות הביטחון בד בבד עם חדירה אל תוך יישובים. במהלכה בוצעו מעשי טבח ורצח אזרחים ישראלים – שכללו גם עינויים, מעשי התעללות ואונס – ובהם טבח במסיבת טבע ליד קיבוץ רעים שהיה לפיגוע הטרור הגדול בתולדות ישראל.(ויקיפדיה)
