English: Paharpur is the most spectacular and magnificent monument in Bangladesh and the second largest single Buddhist monastery on South of the Himalayan region.
বাংলা: হাজার বছরের পুরনো টেরাকোটা সমৃদ্ধ পাহাড়পুর বৌদ্ধবিহার বা সোমপুর মহাবিহার একটি প্রাচীন বৌদ্ধ বিহার। পালরাজা শ্রী ধর্মপাল দেব (৭৮১-৮২১) অষ্টম শতকের শেষের দিকে বা নবম শতকে এই বিহার তৈরি করছিলেন।

Somapura Mahavihara or Paharpur Buddhist Vihara of 8th century in Bangladesh is the well known Buddhist viharas or monasteries in the Indian Subcontinent. It is one of the most important archaeological sites in the country. It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.
