Summary

Description
English: A case of artifacts outside the City Clerk's office at City Hall in Union City, New Jersey. The artifacts, which pertain to the history of that city, include a large book filled with newspaper clippings (the corner of which can be seen at far left), a small square piece of masonry from St. Michael’s Monastery (Now Hudson Presbyterian Church), a mug from the town’s 75th anniversary celebration in 2000, and a photograph (far right) of Bergenline Avenue, the city’s main thoroughfare, taken between 29th and 30th streets, circa the late 1800s, when that section of the city was West Hoboken, all seen on the case’s top shelf. The large piece of corroded metal in the center of the bottom shelf (seen at bottom left) is a piece of trolley track, also from Bergenline Avenue. The city's use of trolleys ceased in 1949.
