English: Soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat team, 1st Armored Division, clean the main barrell of an M1A2 Abrams tank during field preparation for an Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise at Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area, Poland, March 23.
At the direction of the Secretary of Defense, the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, deployed to Europe to exercise the U.S. Army's ability to rapidly alert, recall and deploy under emergency conditions. U.S. forces deployed to Europe in support of Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise Dynamic Force Deployment is evidence of the strong and unremitting U.S. commitment to NATO and Europe. Through continuous, multinational training and security cooperation activities, the exercise builds readiness, increases interoperability and enhances the bond between ally and partner militaries.
