J.-C.), peut-être une copie de l´Aphrodite de Thespies réalisée par Praxitèle, ayant fait partie des collections royales française saisies à la révolution, conservée au Louvre à Paris (réf: Ma 439) et y photographiée le 09 décembre 2011.
English: Statue of Aphrodite, known as Venus of Arles (6 ft. 4 ¼ in.). Marble of the Hymette, Roman work of the time of the emperor Augustus (end of the 1st century BC), perhaps a copy of the Aphrodite of Thespies produced by Praxiteles, having been part of French royal collections seized during the revolution, kept at the Louvre in Paris (ref: Ma 439) and photographed there on December 09, 2011. |
