Title
0B4427 buckle plate
Description
English: Medieval copper alloy buckle plate, 44mm long and 17mm wide. The plate consists of a rectangular piece of metal with two protrusions, 4mm wide and 7mm long, at one end which would have fixed around the buckle. The piece has a decorated border consisting of two lines of incised dashes. At the opposite end to the fixings, one corner is missing and the other one has a rivet hole present. There are a further two holes, one positioned in the centre and one further along near the fixings. This rivethole still has its curved rivet in place.
