On the Ganga. A <a href="http://www.panda.org/about_wwf/what_we_do/freshwater/problems/river_decline/10_rivers_risk/index.cfm">2007 WWF document</a> by C. M. Wong and others put this river in the list of world's top ten rivers at risk. They fear its destruction due to water over-extraction and climate change. But they also provide much <a href="http://www.panda.org/about_wwf/what_we_do/freshwater/problems/river_decline/10_rivers_risk/ganges/index.cfm">interesting information</a>: approximately one in twelve people in the world live in the Gangetic catchment area and that the Ganges River Dolphin that we routinely see has an annual mortality rate of 10%.
