Deutsch: Dieser Rest eines Tympanon aus der um das Jahr 796 errichteten ersten Hallenkirche (an Stelle der heutigen St. Alexandri-Kirche) in Eldagsen zeigt ein Motiv aus der in der Bibel niedergeschriebenen Offenbarung des Johannes: Das Lamm Gottes bezwingt (überwindet) einen geflügelten Lindwurm, die "Hure Babylons", Sinnbild für das Böse. Außerhalb des strickförmigen Ringes, der das Lamm und den Lindwurm umrandet, sind beiderseits Bäume angeordnet, die für den Baum des Lebens und den Baum der Erkenntnis stehen ...
