Description

The Covid-19 pandemic disrupted everyone's travel plans for 2020 and 2021 especially international. After a few planned and booked trips in 2020 which had to be cancelled, after 18 months I finally set foot in mainland Europe to do one of my 'traditional' trips in this case 8 nights in Romania.

Flying in from London Stansted Airport to București, I took advantage of a the newly opened rail link to Gara Nord and crossed the city by trolleybus to Obor station. The trip was visiting mainly lines in the south east of the country and I achieved 100% of my planned route.

Seen here on 8 September 2021 is class 41 electric loco 410606 on a 3-coach double deck train - R8013, 17:15 București Obor to Fetești. Obor is on a short branch which joins on to the main București to Constanța main line.
