0455B8 anglo-saxon copper alloy brooch fragment
Description
English: Anglo-Saxon copper alloy brooch fragment, 47mm long and 26mm wide. The object is in poor condition with a brown and is in two pieces. It represents the upper part of a cruciform brooch which consist of a rectangular head plate which is plain except for a double incised border. Attached to this are two circular knops which has a semi-cricular sectioned collar which is decorated with three incised lines. The upper part of the bow is also present and this appears to be plain. The reverse has patches of iron staining and two rounded copper alloy lugs.
