Français : Le fanum de Fréteval est un élément caractéristique d'ensemble monumental gallo-romain, exclusivement présent dans les trois Gaules. Il est le seul encore en élévation, et peut-être le seul du nord de la Gaule dont la voûte de briques demeure toujours en place. Sa construction représente un bon exemple d'architecture gallo-romaine adaptée aux ressources du site, associant des lits de silex liés au mortier avec des arases de briques. Des fouilles menées dans les années soixante ont révélé un ensemble thermal et une série de structures à la fonction indéterminée. Dans les années 1987, la trace d'un théâtre aurait été repérée. Ces éléments permettent d'avancer deux hypothèses sur la nature du site. Soit le fanum est lié à une importante villa dont seule la partie thermale a été mise au jour ; soit il s'agit d'un conciliabulum, hypothèse plus vraisemblable en raison de la taille de la cella.
