Description
English: Road-rail excavator or crane being used by the Staten Island Railway doing repairs along the St. George-bound tracks as seen from the Tottenville-bound platform at the Pleasant Plains Staten Island Railway station in the Pleasant Plains section of Staten Island, New York City. Much of the southern SIR Main Line along the St. George-bound tracks was closed for repairs that day, so trains were going in both directions along the Tottenville-bound tracks on that part of the island. I honestly don't remember seeing any MTA markings along this backhoe, let alone SIR markings, so until proven wrong, I'm going to assume this is owned by some independent private contractor.
