Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Right front on the stepped platform: Ram Janki temple near the Raja Aman Singh Palace and Koti Tirtha, Kalanjar Durg. This is dedicated to Rama-Sita of the Ramayana fame. The temple is a reclaimed and rebuilt one, it has pillars with some important inscriptions. To the left and back is a single sanctum hut-shaped sloping roof temple for Shiva. This design became popular in terracota temples of Bengal, between the 17th and 19th-centuries. An older version of this unusual hut-inspired architecture is found in Amarkantak, southeast Madhya Pradesh.
