Description
Deutsch: Armenische „Kirche zum Heiligen Kreuz“ auf Akadamar, die zweitgrößte Insel im Vansee (Ostanatolien, Türkei). Die Kirche ist der Rest einer zwischen 915 und 921 erbauten Kloster- und Palastanlage. Die Anlage wurde anlässlich der Armenier-Verfolgung im Jahre 1915 geplündert und zerstört. Simple English: Armenian "Church of the Holy Cross" on Akadamar, the second largest island in Lake Van (Eastern Anatolia, Turkey). The church is the rest of a monastery and palace complex built between 915 and 921. The facility was looted and destroyed as a result of the Armenian persecution in 1915.
