Summary
[edit]Description0052023 Mahasu temple, Pujeli Banal Uttarakhand 083.jpg |
English: The Mahasu temple in Pujeli Banal is a wooden temple in the Mahusu tradition of the Jaunsari people – an ethnic group found near the borders of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Like Mahasu temples of this region, it is notable for its architecture and creative use of stone and wood together, as well as the syncretic display of Jaunsari iconography such as of Mahasu brothers legends along with Hindu iconography such as of Hanuman, Ganesha, Shiva, Rama, Durga and others. |
