Notes Part of the Charles Ramsden Collection of Signed Bindings. Signed by Samfin of Brienne. Macchi states; last quarter-XIX th first quarter, Paris, bound by Jean-Louis Samfin. Received in 1776, and lived at rue des Carmes. Probably moved to rue St. Jacques in 1800, was at n. 627 in 1803 and at 124 from 1809-1816 (C. Ramsden, French Bookbinders, p.184).
