Countdown to CoP16: The United Kingdom (UK) has announced that it will support a U.S. proposal to list polar bears in CITES Appendix I, prohibiting international trade for primarily commercial purposes.

English: Countdown to CoP16: The United Kingdom (UK) has announced that it will support a U.S. proposal to list polar bears in CITES Appendix I, prohibiting international trade for primarily commercial purposes. The UK's support is fantastic news! But, it's still important to gain support of other European Union (EU) countries. At CoP16, the 27 member states of the EU vote as a bloc, based on a collective position. The UK will advocate for the U.S. proposal for polar bears as the EU negotiates its collective position. Now, the question is--which EU country will be the next to announce its support?
