English: The stone baptismal font located inside Saint Mary’s in the parish of East Ruston, Norfolk, England. The font dates from the 14th century. The bowl is octagonal and is on a base surrounded with traceried panels topped with winged angels support the bowl. The Bowl has eight panels which depict the Four Evangelists and human faces. The panels of the Evangelist are an Eagle (St John), Lion (St Mark), Man (St Matthew) and Ox (St Luke) which alternate with heads. The base of the stem is surrounded by carved demons. |
