Summary
[edit]Description-2018-05-19 Railway Cottages, 1 Hardy Road, Norwich, Norfolk.jpg |
English: No. 1 Railway cottage in Hardy Road in the neighbourhood of Carrow in the city of Norwich, Norfolk, England. Arranged in a roughly triangular shape along Cozens and Hardy roads, with a common drying area at the centre, the Grade 2 listed terraces called Railway Cottages form a unique group of planned housing, built in 1847 by the architects Grissell and Peto (builders/architects of the Norfolk Railway Company) for railway workers. The cottages, some of which are situated beside the railway line, were built from red brick (some are now colour-washed) and have hipped slate roofs and yellow brick chimney stacks. |
