Description: On voit dans la figure 1, des Pêcheurs occupés à tirer à terre la Drague. Fig. 2. Sorte de Drague nommée Chalut. C'est ici le chalut de Bretagne, Poitou & Xaintonge; sauf de légères différences sélon les endroits. Les lettres A K A désignent la bouche du filet, dont on apperçoit le bas en K, à travers des mailles du dessus: L est le haut. B B, deux funins qui servent à traîner le chalut de dedans le bateau E, où ils sont attachés en F G. On voit en C C une perche destinée à entretenir la bouche de ce filet toujours ouverte. Il y a des lièges en D. Quelques Pêcheurs mettent des bouts-dehors H I, pour y amarrer les halins afin de les tenir plus écartés. Le chalut, fîg. 3. a son ouverture amarrée sur une perche pliame A C B, dont les bouts sont amarrés sur une perche droite A B. A C D sont autant de points d'où partent des manœuvres, qui se joignant en D au halin E, facilitent le tirage. On voit, fig. 4. un chalut disposé pour être traîné par deux bateaux.
