Description
한국어: 대한민국 천연기념물 제319호이다. 수령이 2014년 현재 수령이 530여 년으로써, 경남 함안군 칠북면 영동리에 소재하고 있다. 
 광주(廣州) 안씨(安氏) 안재동(安在東) 시인(1958년 출생. 2014년 현재 만 56세)의 19대조(代祖)인 안여거(安汝巨)가 1482년경 성균관 훈도를 지내다가 영동리에 정착하면서 심은 나무이다. 
 높이가 26m, 나무 몸체의 둘레가 6m가 넘는 거대한 나무로써 외관상으로 매우 훤칠하고, 높은 수령을 감안하더라도 꽤 성성해보인다. 특히 이 회화나무만큼 수령이 긴 회화나무는 대한민국에서는 거의 찾아볼 수 없는 것으로 알려지고 있다. 마을사람들은 이 회화나무를 신성하게 여기고 있다.
원래 회화나무는 몸체에서 나는 수액이라든가 꽃과 열매 등에서 약효 성분이 있을 뿐 아니라 공해에도 강해서 인간에게 유익하고 선비나무 또는 학자나무로도 불린다.
