한국어: 함경북도 경성군 원수대 조개더미 유적에서 출토된 가락바퀴이다. 1933년 경성대학 일본인 학자 요코야마 쇼자부로[橫山將三郞]가 답사하여 유물을 수습하였다. 흙으로 빚어 구운 가락바퀴[紡錘車]로 적갈색 연질이다. 가운데가 볼록 튀어나온 주판알 모양이며 가운데에 지름 0.5cm의 구멍이 뚫려 있다. 4점 중 1점은 중앙에 부채살 모양의 줄무늬가 새겨져 있다. 가락바퀴는 선사시대 방직술(紡織術)을 입증하는 것으로, 섬유를 이어 꼬아 가면서 실을 만드는 가장 원시적인 형태의 실 뽑는 도구[紡績具]이다. 중앙의 구멍에 가락바퀴의 축이 될 긴 막대를 끼워 넣고 그 축을 돌리는 방법으로 실을 꼬아서 뽑는 데 사용한다. 가락바퀴는 중세에 이르러 물레로 발전하였다. |
