中文：親友追思Monash大學榮譽教授家博(Bruce Jacobs) 林處長：家博畢生追求之民主人權價值，將台澳兩國緊密連結

家博教授「生命禮讚」（Celebration of the Life）追思儀式12月2日下午2時30分在Lower Plenty Hotel舉行，本處處長林起文偕秘書李函及康雅雄出席，Swinburne科技大學榮譽教授John Fitzgerald夫婦、澳洲人報(The Australian)資深記者Rowan Callick及僑務委員張吳雪娥、墨爾本台灣同鄉會會長林賢成、前民進黨大洋洲黨部主任委員林萬得、家博友人等約100人參加。
林處長致詞表示，今天以「生命禮讚」來思念台灣堅貞的友人家博教授（Big Beard,大鬍子）。家博1965年初次赴台在台灣大學歷史研究所進修，54年來家博致力教學及研究台灣歷史、政治及民主化，讓世人充分瞭解台灣之國際地位及台灣為何需獲得國際社會支持。家博並在澳洲協助加強台澳雙邊關係，上年11月家博獲我政府頒贈「大綬景星勳章」，表彰其一生對台灣民主及人權之貢獻。
林處長本年5月抵任，他曾於6月及8月與家博教授長時間及深入交談，家博總是關心台灣之發展及台灣友人，家博每次提到台灣政局及政府施政，關心期盼之情溢於言表；家博10月並參加本處「中華民國108年國慶酒會」，與好友相談甚歡。林處長說，家博畢生追求之理念正是台、澳共享之價值，並將台、澳兩國緊密連結，台灣人民將永遠感念家博對台灣堅定不移之愛。
隨後家博教授女兒Stephanie、Melanie及遺孀Jung-sim Kim致詞追思家博之家庭生活、親子互動及日常點滴，家博教授之友人亦分別敘述表達對其不捨與思念，氣氛溫馨感人。
