| Description |
中文（臺灣）：此張寫真是由日治時期花蓮港廳內重要的相片館片山寫真所發行，位於繁華的黑金通上（今花蓮市中山路）。圖中可見一位盛裝打扮的太魯閣族婦女，紋面於額頭與雙頰上，這是太魯閣族女性擅長織布與耕作後，才有資格在臉部印上象徵美麗、勇敢、避邪的圖案。這樣的印記在太魯閣族的文化中還有一個重要的意義，即太魯閣族相信人在逝世後會有一道彩虹橋，沒紋面者會無法前往橋的另一端與祖靈們相會，因為有紋面祖靈才會認得你是同一個族群的子孫。平常的太魯閣族並不會穿著像圖中一樣盛裝打扮，通常是祭儀、結婚等重要時刻才會以這樣出席。此影像收錄於2016年（民國105年）由花蓮文史工作者葉柏強先生撰寫、花蓮縣文化局出版的《顧我洄瀾：花蓮歷史影像集》，書中收錄了大量花蓮在地的歷史影像，如老照片、繪葉書、宣傳摺頁、郵戳樣式等，是深入花蓮文史的重要書籍。 |
