The defendant in this case was found guilty of ‘picking quarrels and provoking trouble’ and sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of ten months for his reposting of tweets that were deemed ‘inappropriate remarks that insulted the leader of the Party and the state’ or ‘false information that concerned major domestic events’. This is the third page of the judgement.
English translation of the full judgement (Wikisource): People v Sheng Zhonghua (2021) Deutsch: Dies ist ein Strafurteil, das vom Volksgericht des Ganjingzi-Bezirks in Dalian, Liaoning, Volksrepublik China, am 29. Januar 2021 erlassen wurde. Der Angeklagte in diesem Fall wurde der Schuld des „Anstiftens von Streitigkeiten und Provozierens von Ärger“ für schuldig befunden und zu einer Freiheitsstrafe von zehn Monaten verurteilt, aufgrund seiner Nachsendung von Tweets, die als „unangemessene Bemerkungen, die den Partei- und Staatsführer beleidigen“ oder als „falsche Informationen zu bedeutenden inländischen Ereignissen“ angesehen wurden.
