此為來自林業試驗所的牛樟漂流木標本。牛樟是臺灣原生特有樹種,樹型生長粗壯堅實。牛樟芝是長在牛樟上一種真菌的子實體,其代謝物具有特殊醫療功效,造成天然牛樟木遭盜伐的壓力。以現今生物技術,已可用人工栽培牛樟芝。

English: This is a specimen of a Cinnamomum Kanehirae Hayata driftwood. Cinnamomum kanehirae Hayata, or stout camphor tree, is a tree endemic to Taiwan with thick and strong branches. Taiwanofungus camphoratus is the fruiting body of a fungus found on the stout camphor tree. It metabolites have special medicinal properties, which have led to the illegal logging of natural stout camphor trees. Existing biotechnologies have enabled humans to grows Taiwanofungus camphoratus artificially. |
